Carl and Lisa Ammon, owners of Harding Heating and Cooling, know that strong communities, like strong homes, don’t run on their own. They take commitment and people willing to step up.

That’s why Carl and Lisa are proud members and now Give Alliance 365 Ambassadors of a giving circle of local donors each giving $365 or more a year, to fund meaningful microgrants for nonprofits serving the greater Alliance area.

“We joined Give Alliance 365 because we believe that real change starts at the community level,” Carl shared. “This program gives us a meaningful way to support causes that matter to us and help create a stronger, more compassionate community.”

Thank you, Carl and Lisa, for leading by example and helping keep our community running strong.

Yesterday, a little bit of community magic happened. We were honored to be part of Leadership Stark County's Asset Building Day where members of the current class got to visit and tour The Alliance Commons and learn more about the important work happening there. Additionally, the class partnered with the Sew4Service - Alliance, OH Chapter to create heart warming messages for meal bags to be distributed by Compassion Delivered.

The afternoon was concluded with an Alliance Ohio Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours where our local organizations and businesses had a chance to get to know the class even better.

Special thanks to the University of Mount Union Regula Center, Alliance Pregnancy Center, Canton City Schools Aspire, Beacon Charitable Pharmacy, Challenge Ministries, Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health, Compass, Heart of Ohio Diaper Bank, Early Childhood Education Alliance, Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, Inc., Alliance Area Habitat for Humanity, Project REBUILD Inc., Sew4Service - Alliance, OH Chapter, Stark County Community Action Agency, Strive Collective, Stark County TASC, Inc., and YWCA Alliance for partnering with us on this very special day.

Partnerships like this are what make our community stronger. Today, a brand new Inchy the Bookworm book vending machine was installed at The Alliance Commons thanks to our friends at Grove Appliance Furniture Mattress and the generous donation from the Geraldine Burnell Brotsman Charitable Fund to the University of Mount Union Regula Center. Located in our vibrant community hub, the machine will provide free books to children from birth through age 12 who earn tokens through our community partners rewarding positive behaviors and promoting childhood literacy. We’re grateful to everyone who helped bring this innovative resource to life for Alliance families.

Ways to Give

Donations big and small all make a tremendous impact in our community. The Greater Alliance Foundation offers several entry points for donors and up-and-coming philanthropists to begin putting their hard-earned dollars to work for the betterment off the Alliance Community.

Apply for a Grant or Scholarship

At the Greater Alliance Foundation, we deeply appreciate our donors’ generosity, which allows us to support local nonprofit organizations and foster educational aspirations through scholarships. We review applications for grant funding requests three times a year and scholarships according to scholarship guidelines to ensure that our support has a meaningful impact on both nonprofits and individuals striving for academic excellence in our community.
